Eligibility: 
Open to U.S. or Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents who are beginning an ALA accredited Master's Program.  The student must have no more than 12 semester hours towards MLS/MLIS/MIS prior to June 1 of year awarded.  A personal statement is required.  This award is named for a former director of the American Library Association.
