Requirements / Eligibility:
Open to current MLIS students who are African American citizens of the U.S. or Canada.
Awarded for an essay of 1,000-1,200 words discussing issues, problems, or challenges facing library service to minority populations such as African Americans. The specific theme is chosen by BCALA, and changes yearly. See website for details.
